Payroll Administrator
OBJECTIVE:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing and maintaining payroll systems and assisting with year-end tax forms and internal audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processing full cycle (hire to termination), bi-weekly Canadian payroll for approximately 2000 hourly and salary employees using payroll software and time attendance system
- Payroll systems maintenance (E-time) – ensuring compliance with all compensation and tax regulations; design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes
- Determines the need for new accounts and revisions in the account structure. Researches and advises payroll staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions. May perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors
- Reconciling payroll records with accounting records to ensure that all transactions have been recorded correctly
- Reviewing payroll data and documents for inefficiencies and errors, checking whether all amounts are accurate based on hours worked and ensuring submissions are made on time.
- Preparing reports and forecasts for senior management – budget call outs, garnishments
- Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses * Assisting with Payroll year-end tax form preparations
- Assisting with Finance year-end and internal audits
- Other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years experience processing full cycle payroll
- Previous experience with ADP (US or Canada) payroll system
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook * Generally requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting
- PCP, FPC or CPP designation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Coordinator or similar role
- Deep knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with payroll software (like ADP, Oracle and Kronos)
- Excellent analytical skills
- The ability to work under tight deadlines
